New Holland Forage Harvester Parts: Verify the Chopper and Assembly

How do I identify a New Holland forage harvester replacement part?

Match the exact chopper model and the assembly first, then compare the original part number and technical details such as tooth count, bore, chain, or mounting pattern with the stated fitment in the replacement listing.

Forage-harvester parts are especially application-specific because a single machine includes feedroll, cutterhead, auger, reversing-gearbox, PTO, and attachment assemblies. Begin with the chopper model and then identify the assembly where the worn part belongs.

Use the assembly to avoid near matches

CCW lists selected parts for 782 and 790 harvesters and for 890 and 892 harvesters. Some components may also appear in related models, but that does not prove interchangeability. Record the original number, sprocket tooth count or chain specification where relevant, bore size, and whether the part belongs to the feedroll, cutterhead, auger, gearbox, or head attachment.

Check attachment compatibility separately

When the part is associated with a corn head or another attachment, verify both the harvester and attachment model. Brackets, drive parts, and conversion pieces can be specific to the pairing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a part listed for a 782 also fit a 790?
Some parts may fit multiple models, but fit must come from the listing’s specific model notes and the original manual callout—not the model family alone.
What should I record for a sprocket or chain?
Record the original number, tooth count, bore or shaft size, chain designation, assembly location, and machine model before comparing a listing.
